PLEXTRUD · FEP Tubing Production

FEP Medical Tubing
Extrusion Line

Plan a FEP tubing extrusion line around your resin grade, tube dimensions and production requirements. Discuss equipment configuration, trial-run acceptance, on-site installation and operator training in one project-specific proposal.

FEP Tubing Applications & Requirements

Start with the tube you need to produce. Share its intended application, drawing and resin specification so the equipment proposal can be assessed against your actual project.

Define the finished tubing

  • Tube outer diameter, inner diameter or wall thickness
  • Required dimensional tolerances and appearance
  • Straight cut lengths or continuous winding requirements
  • FEP resin brand, grade and available processing guidance
  • Intended medical application and your validation requirements

Provide a reference sample or drawing where available. Tube suitability for a medical application must be assessed against your material, processing and finished-product requirements.

FEP Tubing Extrusion Line Configuration

The proposed line configuration is selected around the FEP resin grade and the finished tubing specification. Confirm the equipment list and optional features in the quotation.

Extruder & tooling

Define the resin processing requirements, extruder configuration and tube die tooling together. The proposed screw, barrel, temperature control and material-contact components are confirmed for the selected FEP project.

Cooling & tube sizing

Discuss the cooling and sizing arrangement in relation to the tube dimensions, surface requirements and line layout. The proposed method is specified in the equipment configuration.

Haul-off, Cutting & Winding

Match the haul-off arrangement and cutting or winding equipment to the tube specification. Confirm whether the required finish is straight cut tubing or continuous winding. The haul-off speed and finishing equipment are selected for the agreed tubing specifications.

Control & Optional Units

Review temperature controls, drive settings, measurement needs and optional marking or collection functions when defining the complete extrusion line.

Project Inputs

Information Needed for an FEP Tubing Line Quote

A useful equipment proposal starts with the raw material and finished tube. Please share the information you have; remaining details can be confirmed against a drawing or sample.

RequirementWhat to Share
Raw materialFEP material grade, supplier and any available processing guidance.
Tube dimensionsOuter diameter, inner diameter or wall thickness, plus dimensional tolerances.
Finished productAppearance requirements, cut length or continuous winding arrangement.
Production goalsTarget output, operating conditions and inspection requirements.
Site detailsVoltage, frequency, available utilities and installation destination.

Final equipment specifications and acceptance criteria are agreed for each project; a generic model selection cannot replace a review of your tubing requirements.

Production Considerations

FEP Tube Extrusion: Material, Sizing & Finishing

Material & Temperature Control

FEP processing requires equipment suitable for the selected raw material and its processing temperature range. Confirm the material specification before choosing the extruder and tooling.

Dimensional Consistency

Tooling, cooling, line speed and measurement methods must be considered together when planning tube outer diameter, inner diameter and wall-thickness control.

Cutting or Winding

Specify whether tubing should be cut into straight lengths or collected on reels. The finishing choice affects the haul-off and cutting or winding equipment.

Medical Application Review

An extrusion line alone does not establish medical-device compliance. Buyers should define the product validation, documentation and inspection requirements for their intended application.

Before Shipment

Pre-Shipment Trial Run & Sample Acceptance

For complete FEP tubing extrusion lines, pre-shipment commissioning and agreed trial checks help buyers confirm the configuration before delivery.

Equipment Check

Review the main equipment list, included functions and electrical configuration against the approved project scope.

Sample Inspection

Check agreed tube dimensions and appearance against the specified tolerances and measurement method.

Trial-Run Records

Review operating videos and trial information for the specified raw material, tube size and operating conditions.

Acceptance Options

Sample shipment, video review or an on-site trial can be arranged according to the order agreement.

Complete-Line Support

Installation, Commissioning & Operator Training

For complete FEP tubing extrusion lines, experienced engineers can provide overseas on-site installation, commissioning and practical operator training under the agreed service scope. Follow-up video support is also available.

Before delivery, confirm utilities, unloading arrangements, site preparation and the technicians who will operate the line.

Complete Lines vs. Individual Units

Overseas installation and commissioning apply to complete-line projects as agreed. Standalone machines or components do not include on-site service.

For separately ordered tooling, provide clear drawings, dimensions and equipment compatibility information.

After-Sales

Warranty & Long-Term Technical Support

One-Year Warranty

Complete extrusion lines carry a one-year warranty from the date the customer receives the equipment. If a confirmed material or manufacturing defect affects the screw, barrel, motor or inverter, replacement parts are provided without charge during the warranty period.

Coverage & Spare Parts

Normal wear, consumables and improper operation are excluded. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, international shipping for replacement parts is paid by the customer. Confirm any return of old parts before shipping them. Long-term spare parts and technical consultation remain available after warranty.

FAQs

FEP Medical Tubing Extrusion Line FAQs

What information do you need to recommend a line?

Share the FEP material grade, tube dimensions and tolerances, target output, cut length or winding requirements, and power supply. A drawing or sample is particularly helpful.

Can the line be configured for different tube sizes?

The tooling and equipment can be configured for an agreed size range. Whether a tooling adjustment or a different die is needed depends on the actual dimensions.

How do we inspect samples before shipment?

Agree on sample dimensions and trial acceptance criteria in advance. Operating videos or sample shipment can be arranged for review before dispatch.

Is overseas installation included?

On-site installation, commissioning and operator training can be arranged for complete lines under the agreed scope. Individual machines and components do not include on-site installation.
